ALSCON (RUSAL)

ALSCON company – one of capital assets of RUSAL in the territory of Africa. ALSCON is in Ikot Abasi, Nigeria. The aluminum production plant, port on the Imo River and gas power plant are a part of the company. The total area occupied by the enterprise – 333 hectares, including capacities of the basic and auxiliary productions, clinics, dining rooms, port and 4 settlements for accommodation of employees. The plant began the activity in 1997, but in 2000 was stopped. Again the enterprise earned in 2008 after RUSAL acquired a controlling stake and carried out large-scale upgrade. RUSAL possesses 85% of stocks of the enterprise, the government of Nigeria and the German company Ferrostaal AG hold other shares.
