ANNA Money is a British fintech startup that helps small businesses and freelancers control finances and taxes. The company in 2017 was created by the founders of the services "Point" and "Button" Boris Dyakonov and Eduard Panteleev. Former Alfa-Bank top manager Vyacheslav Akulov and former top managers in the banking service project Magneta.ai Andrei Pachay and Nikita Filippov also participated in the launch of the project.

History

2022: Mikhail Fridman and Peter Aven handed over 34% of Anna Money's fintech service to its founders

On August 9, 2022, it became known about the transfer of the share of billionaires Mikhail Fridman and Peter Aven in Anna Money to the co-founders of this British fintech startup Boris Dyakonov and Eduard Panteleev. The latter told Bloomberg that this deal opens up new opportunities for Anna Money in terms of the future of the business.

Mikhail Fridman and Peter Aven

Financial and other terms of the transaction were not disclosed. It is only known that 55-year-old Eduard Panteleev and 45-year-old Boris Dyakonov bought out all Anna Money shares previously owned by FIBR Financial Technologies with investments from Mikhail Fridman and Peter Aven.

A source close to Anna Money told Bloomberg that the cost of the majority share of the startup is at least £30 million (about $36.4 million). For such an amount, it was put up for sale after the start of the military special operation of the Russian Federation in Ukraine.

Anna Money service provides accounting and administrative services to small entrepreneurs and freelancers - creates, sends and monitors accounts and expenses, monitors taxes.

After the start of the Russian special operation in Ukraine, Anna Money disclosed information according to which Mikhail Fridman and Petr Aven (subject to the sanctions of the European Union and Great Britain) indirectly own 34% of the startup through two companies registered in Luxembourg - ABH Holdings and FIBR Technologies SA. The fintech startup made changes to the equity agreement, according to which only Dyakonov and Panteleev received the right to appoint directors of the company. Anna Money also said it was in talks to buy back the stake by August 2022.[1]

2020: Raising $21 million of investments from Alfa Group

On May 14, 2020, it became known that ANNA Money closed the round to attract investments in the amount of 17.5 million pounds sterling ($21 million). The only investor in this transaction  was AVN Holdings (unites Alfa-Group companies), which received a majority stake in a British fintech startup. However, what share is in question is not specified. The  founders will retain 40%, according to TechCrunch.

Fintech company of the founders of Tochka raised $21 million from Alfa Group

ANNA Money intends to spend the funds received to start operations in other countries To Europe outside Britain. The company began to look for sources of financing even before the coronavirus pandemic, and COVID-19 even after its onset, when the volume of customer payments against the background of the crisis fell by 15-30%, the business will quickly return to normal, the company is sure.

According to the results of the financing round, the cost of the company was estimated at $110 million. By mid-May 2020, ANNA Money has about 20 thousand customers in the British market.[2]
