ASTI Mobile Robotics Group (ASTI) is a manufacturer of mobile autonomous robots founded in 1982. The company is headquartered in Burgos (Spain), there are also offices in France and Germany, and the total staff is about 300 people. ASTI customers include Nestle, L'Oreal and Procter & Gamble ( as of July 2021).

2021: ABB Group bought ASTI Mobile Robotics Group

ASTI robots can tow and move boxes, as well as deliver components with a payload of up to 2000 kg. They are able to move freely through factory shops at a speed of up to 2 meters per second without using pre-deployed rails.

According to him, thanks to this acquisition, ABB will be the only company that offers a full portfolio of automation solutions, including autonomous mobile robots, robots and industrial automation solutions, which will be used from production to logistics operations and delivery point. This dramatically changes the rules of the game for customers, as they adapt to an individualized consumer and take advantage of the opportunities provided by significant changes in consumer demand, he added.

ASTI's development will be integrated with ABB's robot portfolio, industrial automation solutions, modular solutions and software package, including the RobotStudio modeling and programming program.[1]
