History

2022: Memory card maker attacked by hackers Secret data stolen

On October 4, 2022, the RansomHouse group announced the hacking of Adata, which specializes in the release of RAM, solid state drives, portable hard drives, flash key fobs, etc.

According to RansomHouse itself, the attack managed to steal about 1 TB of Adata internal files. As proof, the attackers posted some of the documents on the Internet. However, Adata denies the theft of data. The company says the released files were stolen back in May 2021 in a Ragnar Locker ransomware attack. Then the operators of this malware hacked Adata servers and downloaded about 1.5 TB of information from there. The attackers had financial documents, non-disclosure agreements and other information at their disposal.

RansomHouse group reports Adata hack

{{quote 'After the Ragnar Locker attack in 2021, Adata hired information security experts and implemented effective technologies to provide reliable protection. Since then, no attack on Adata has been successful. No confidential information from Adata fell into third parties, the company says. }} Adata says that the files released by the RansomHouse group coincide with the files stolen last spring in the Ragnar Locker attack. This, in particular, is indicated by time stamps. In addition, the documents now published do not contain any older than May 2021.

Plus, Adata emphasizes, members of the RansomHouse group do not make any ransom demands. However, the cybercriminals themselves continue to insist that they successfully hacked Adata servers. Moreover, according to the attackers, they even negotiated with representatives of the attacked company, but what exactly was discussed is not specified.[1][2]
