2019: Delta Electronics purchased Amerlux for $90 million
In March, 2019 Delta Electronics announced acquisition of Amerlux and is going to close the transaction in the second quarter. The cost of purchase is $90 million, but Delta Electronics will have to pay the additional amount if the profit of EBITDA and revenue of Amerlux in a year reach certain values. EBITDA is an important indicator of profitability for the companies with a heavy capital expenditure.
The Dutch division of Delta Electronics acted as the formal buyer of Amerlux. This transaction will expand at the buyer a product portfolio, the buildings used for automation, management of the electric power, commercial and industrial LED lighting, video surveillance and quality control of the environment.
The CEO of Delta Electronics Cheng Ping reported that the Amerlux enterprises in Auckland (the State of New Jersey, the USA) will continue to turn out products for internal and outside lighting, and the management and ordinary personnel of the company will be whenever possible saved.
The president and the CEO of Amerlux Chuck Campagna says that thanks to this transaction the company will become "the supplier of end-to-end systems of lighting".
In the press release it is noted that automation of buildings became the main direction of strategy of long-term growth Delta Electronics. Purchase of Amerlux will bring benefit to clients due to expansion of the range of "smart" eco-friendly lighting solutions with support of Internet of Things which are applied in buildings and on city streets.[1]
