Apache Software Foundation (ASF) is the non-profit fund organized on March 25, 1999 by the staff of Apache Group. The headquarters is in the city of Delaver (USA). The history of fund is directly connected with Apache HTTP Server - the most popular product of the organization. Work on this solution began in 1994. The group of eight developers founded the company which was originally called as Apache Group and already then is reformed in non-profit fund. The first official meeting of the management of Apache Software Foundation was held on April 13, 1999, and on the basis of a consensus, the list of members of Apache Software Foundation was approved.
