The budget for the development of the Arkhyz resort will amount to ₽49,5 billion

The Mantera Group, together with other residents, plans to invest ₽49,5 billion in the development of the all-season resort of Arkhyz in Karachay-Cherkessia until 2030. This became known in early October 2024 from the statement of the Deputy General Director of the Mantera Group Maria Zolotukhina.

According to Interfax, of the total investment, ₽27,2 billion will be directed to the creation of ski infrastructure. This will double the tourist flow, attract additional extra-budgetary investments and ensure an increase in tax revenues to the budget.

According to the plans presented, four tourist villages will be created on the territory of Arkhyz, aimed at various types of target audience. Special Economic Zone (SEZ) status provides investors with a number of benefits, including tax breaks and access to packaged investment portfolios.

Roman Kiranchuk, General Director of the Arkhyz resort, announced specific development plans. Until 2027, Mantera Group of Companies, a key investor, intends to increase the length of ski slopes to 57 km and build 6 new cable cars, bringing their total number to 14.

Special attention is paid to the expansion of the resort's room stock. By the end of 2024, it is planned to commission six new facilities of the hotel fund, which will add about 1.7 thousand accommodation places. By 2030, the total number of places of accommodation at the resort should reach 12 thousand.

As of October 2024, 38 residents operate on the territory of Arkhyz. The resort, which opened in December 2013, is located on the eastern border of the Western Caucasus between the Abishira-Ahuba and Gabulu ranges. It has 27 km of ski slopes, eight chairlift and gondola cable cars, as well as artificial snow formation systems.

Maria Zolotukhina noted that the SEZ mechanism has established itself as an effective tool for the systematic development of the territory with a focus on the social well-being of the general tourist agglomeration.[1]

The solemn technical launch of the facility took place on September 27, 2024 with the participation of representatives of federal and regional authorities.

The Deputy Minister of Economic Development Russia Sergei Nazarov , together with the Chairman of the Government of the KCR Murat Argunov, the executive director of Кавказ.РФ Khasan Timizhev and the director of the resort Roman Kiranchuk, assessed the technical readiness of the cable car, climbing it to the Abishira-Akhuba ridge to an altitude of 3016 meters above sea level.

The length of the "Orbit" is 2376 meters, and its throughput reaches 1200 people per hour. A feature of the new cable car is one of the longest unsupported spans in Russia - 780 meters. Ten-seater gondolas will run along the route, two of which are equipped with a glass floor for panoramic viewing.

Hasan Timizhev noted that thanks to the unique technical characteristics of Orbit, tourists will be able to travel to the most picturesque places in Arkhyz. From the terminus of the cable car, access to the ecological trail leading to Dinnika Peak (3175 m), as well as to the route passing through Fedoseyev Pass to the cascade of mountain blue lakes, known as the "Blue Necklace" of Arkhyz, opens.
