Lyaglia Sadykova, President of the Association of Beauty Industry Enterprises and Professionals, points to the restrained interest of large investors in beauty salons. She explains this by the low rate of profit, which does not exceed 10%, as well as difficulties with forecasting. The areas of plastic surgery and aesthetic medicine, where the average check is higher and the ROI model is more transparent, she said.
The costs of launching a beauty salon in a million-plus city, according to Lyalia Sadykova, range from 5 to 15 million rubles. The amount includes expenses for repairs, equipment purchases and an initial advertising campaign. To create a recognizable network, according to Sadykova, the opening of at least three to five points is required.
Svetlana Hapaeva, director of franchising for the Palchiki chain, estimates the profitability of successful beauty salons at 20%, but confirms a high entry threshold. According to her estimates, even the opening of a nail salon may require from 4.5 to 10 million rubles.[1]
