2022: Refusal to conclude contracts with new customers in Russia, maintenance of technical support
At the end of April 2022, Aveva announced that it was ceasing to conclude contracts with new customers in Russia. At the same time, the manufacturer of engineering software will retain technical support.
Aveva will continue to support existing client companies that have not been sanctioned, in the absence of legal grounds for breaking contracts, the Financial Times quoted a company representative as saying. |
It is noted that such a decision was made in connection with the conduct by Russia of a special military operation in Ukraine and the imposition of sanctions against companies from the Russian Federation.
According to Aveva, the Russian market accounted for about 2% of revenue in fiscal 2022. The company warned investors that due to sanctions against Russia, as well as amid rising costs, Aveva's revenue and margin growth in fiscal 2023 will not be as strong as previously expected. The company said adjusted earnings before interest and taxes will be affected by rising "wages due to very competitive software labor market conditions," as well as increased investment in cloud research and development.
According to the Financial Times in a publication dated April 27, 2022, in recent years Aveva has sought to expand its client base outside the oil and gas industry, where the company has traditionally had strong positions. By the end of April 2022, it is unknown whether the Russian oil and gas sector used Aveva software.
One of Aveva's partners in the region of Russia and the CIS countries is the Omegallans group of companies. The companies, as noted in OMEGALLIANCE, have closely collaborated and invested significant funds in promoting Aveva solutions in the Russian market. As a result of such cooperation, a number of projects were launched at large production enterprises and today these projects already bring significant economic effect to customers.[1]
2021: AVEVA to take part in TAdviser online conference in 'IT in industry 2021'
In recent months, we have all faced force majeure: the risk of key employees being out of action for several weeks, breaking transport routes, closing borders, restrictions on personal presence, a rapid change in the structure of supply and demand, and much more. All this demonstrated the gap between operational and information technologies in the economy, which is considered digital. The current situation has shown the real information maturity of companies and their ability to ensure the continuity of their business.
