2023: Centre Construction
In December 2023, the governor of the Kaliningrad region, Anton Alikhanov, announced the construction of an analogue of the Artek children's center on the Baltic Sea.
According to Alikhanov, the camp facilities, which should be built at the first and second stages, have passed the examination. The construction of the buildings of the first stage is already underway.
Implementation is underway. Now builders are actively working. The examination was received for the first and second stages. In the first stage, they have already begun to implement... We plan to start commissioning these facilities in 2025, "Karen Hovhannisyan, General Director of the Unified Construction Customer, confirmed to reporters on December 20, 2023, adding that the launch of the facility is scheduled for 2026. |
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin supported the idea of a Kaliningrad schoolboy Daniil Evdokimov, who during an open lesson "Talking about Important" suggested that the head of state create an all-Russian children's center in Kaliningrad like "Ocean" or "Artek."
Kaliningrad region is a region with a mild climate, favorable. This is only a question of money, I will say right away and frankly. But the idea is correct, and the geography should expand: "Ocean" - in the Far East, "Artek" and "Eaglet" - this is on the Black Sea and here in the Baltic such an institution would be in demand, "Putin said. |
"Baltic Artek" will be a complex of facilities - an open sports core with indoor stands for spectators, a universal sports and cultural complex with a hall and a swimming pool, as well as an ice complex with two hockey grounds and stands for spectators. A residential block, a restoration center, an educational center and sports grounds will also be erected. Schoolchildren will be able to visit a multifunctional sports complex with halls for wrestling, dancing and extreme sports, a swimming pool with diving towers. According to Interfax, the cost of the construction contract was almost 5.3 billion rubles.[1]
