2019: In the Kaliningrad region started the plant on production of copper rolled wire

The borrower of IDF – Baltkat LLC (enters into Baltic Wire group) – started at the end of 2019 in Ozyorsk of the Kaliningrad region the plant on production of copper rolled wire. The plant will allow to refuse the copper rolled wire imported from the European Union.

The company started new production of copper rolled wire with a diameter of 8 mm which is used further for production of insulated conductors of different sections. In 2020 the company is going to leave at full capacity productions in 300 tons of copper rolled wire a month.

Import volumes of copper rolled wire to the Kaliningrad region fluctuate from 100 to 300 tons a month. The main share of import arrives from Poland and Lithuania.

The Kaliningrad producers of cable products by which owing to transport remoteness from the main producers of copper rolled wire in Russia, it was profitable to buy import raw materials earlier will act as consumers of rolled wire of Baltkat.

"Copper rod iron is a basis for the most part of cables and wires. However earlier the Kaliningrad enterprises had to buy raw materials abroad. Thanks to Fund of development of the industry we started new production which will allow to cover needs of local entrepreneurs in copper rolled wire", – the head of Baltiysky provod Group Emkuzhev Mukhadin told.
