2025: Introduction of industrial robots
Belarusian plant SZAO "Belji" automaker Belgee completed a large-scale modernization of production, as a result of which the number of industrial robots increased from 10 to 43 units, which allowed to double performance from 15 to 30 cars per hour. The modernization primarily affected the welding and body painting workshops, where the degree of automation of technological processes was significantly increased and the human factor was excluded when performing critical operations. The changes are aimed at improving product quality, increasing production capacity and introducing modern technologies to improve production efficiency. This was announced on August 11, 2025 by representatives of Belgee.
In the welding workshops, additional posts and modern equipment for various technological operations appeared. In the new section of the studs welding, a pair of suspension tongs for contact spot welding is installed, which ensure high accuracy of connections.
Twenty devices for contact spot welding were introduced in the welding section of the engine compartment, organized in five work stations of four pieces of equipment each. This configuration ensures a uniform utilization of production capacity and improves the overall efficiency of welding operations.
Two new stations for welding the studs of the partition of the engine compartment were installed in the welding shops, the existing equipment for welding the floor was modernized and an automated laser welding station for the roof was added. The new station is equipped with a closed chamber and an air purification system to ensure the safety of workers.
The number of manual processes in the welding industry has been significantly reduced thanks to the introduction of two new robots designed to weld the engine compartment to the floor. Automation of these operations has improved the quality of welded joints and the productivity of the site.[1]
