2021: Opening of the first diagnostic center in Belarus

In early August 2021, the St. Petersburg Medical Institute named after Berezin Sergey (MIBS), specializing in MRI and nuclear medicine, opened the first diagnostic center in Belarus - in Vitebsk. $1.4 million was invested in this project. The remaining patients came for treatment from different regions of Russia - from Kaliningrad to the Far East. 20 people arrived in St. Petersburg from other countries: Belarus, Kazakhstan, Estonia, Ukraine, the Serbian Republic, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Israel. Visiting adults were forced to independently pay for their own treatment. Funds for the treatment of 44 children with protons in 2018 were raised by charitable foundations of Russia and Belarus.

In 2019, quotas for the treatment of 100 people with modern radiation therapy will be allocated by St. Petersburg and Moscow, 8-10 people will be paid for by the Moscow and Leningrad regions. According to Stolpner, several Siberian regions are ready to join them.

According to the draft budget of the mandatory fund, medical insurance published Ministry of Health in the fall of 2018, from 2020, proton therapy will be funded under the program of state guarantees for the provision of medical care at the expense of the system. In COMPULSORY HEALTH INSURANCE 2020, an amount was pledged for the treatment of 2 thousand patients (5 billion rubles).

In 2020, specialists from the Proton Therapy Center, according to Stolpner, are ready to reach the planned capacity level of the enterprise and treat up to 800 people a year.

2017: Construction of Russia's first proton therapy center

As part of a public-private partnership, MIBS is building another unique center for the treatment of cancer - the first in the Russian Hospitality Center for Proton Therapy. The opening of the center is planned in 2017, this project is recognized as strategic for St. Petersburg.

2016:90 diagnostic centers in 65 cities of Russia and the CIS

By 2016, the company opened more than 90 diagnostic centers for magnetic resonance and multispiral computed tomography, located in more than 65 cities of Russia and the CIS countries, firmly securing unconditional leadership, both in the quality of research and in their number.

In the cities where MIBS departments work, huge lines for magnetic resonance imaging have been eliminated. Despite the complete lack of budget funding, the center manages to maintain the lowest prices for its services. For 2016, 40% of the center's patients are preferential categories of citizens, the amount of discounts for them in St. Petersburg exceeds 8 million rubles a year, and throughout the network - more than 95 million rubles.

2015: 1.3 million patients admitted

The number of patients examined in the MIBS increased from 2003 to 2007 years from 8 to 300 thousand, in 2010 - to 750 thousand people, in 2012 - over 1 million, and in 2015 more than 1,350,000 patients were admitted. Thus, at this time, every fifth magnetic resonance imaging in the country was performed in the company's branches.

2013: Russia's first linear accelerator Varian TrueBeam STx commissioned

At the very beginning of 2013, the first linear accelerator Varian TrueBeam STx in Russia was commissioned at MIBS. This device, in addition to its technical reliability, is unique in that it can treat neoplasms of any localization and any complexity - from today's standard conformal radiation, to methods synchronized with breathing, or radiosurgery without the use of an invasive frame.

The company's network of clinics at this time includes more than 70 diagnostic centers for magnetic resonance and multispiral computed tomography located in more than 57 cities of Russia (from Kaliningrad to Krasnoyarsk) and the CIS countries.

Every fifth magnetic resonance imaging was performed in the departments of LDC MIBS, and the number of patients examined in 2013 amounted to more than 1.2 million people.

The Center for Neurology, Epileptology and Video-EEG Monitoring also operates within the framework of LDC MIBS.

2012

Purchase of positron emission tomograph

By the end of 2012, the fleet of high-tech diagnostic equipment of MIBS was replenished with another unique apparatus - a positron emission tomograph combined with MSKT - PET/CT, which allows you to fully examine the human body in one visit, identify the tumor, and most importantly, carry out constant control over the course and quality of treatment.

First patients on a linear accelerator

In the second half of 2012, the center treated the first patients on a linear accelerator designed for conformal radiation therapy - Varian Clinac 2100. During the operation, hundreds of patients received safe, effective and modern treatment.

2011: Installation of a cyber knife

In 2011, in addition to the gamma knife, a unique cyber knife installation appeared in MIBS, which allows you to treat neoplasms of almost any localization.

2009: Opening of the Centre for Integrated Diagnostics

In 2009, the Center for Integrated Diagnostics of MIBS was opened in St. Petersburg, equipped with:

  • both high-field and ultra-high-field magnetic resonance tomographs Siemens Essenza 1.5T and VERIO 3.0T,
  • Siemens Sensation Multispiral Computed Tomograph,
  • a digital mammograph with a CAD station and an ACUSON S2000 ultrasound scanner with an ABVS prefix for research in mammology.

In close contact with leading radiologists in Germany, the doctors of the center mastered, introduced into their daily practice and even improved the latest methods of work and interpretation of the data obtained on an ultra-high-field tomograph.

2008: Opening of the gamma knife compartment

Since 2008, a department equipped with a gamma knife has been successfully operating in St. Petersburg. The operations performed on this plant are the "gold standard" in brain radiosurgery. In the first year of work alone, the center carried out more than 300 radiosurgical interventions, which was half of all performed in the Russian Federation, having conducted 930 operations in 2012, the center was one of the three most "busy" Gamma-knife centers in the world, and in the period 2013-2015. The Gamma-Knife MIBS center has become the most active operating center in the world among similar ones three times, bringing the number of operations on Gamma-Knife to more than 1,200 per year.
