2021: Creation of the largest NPF in Russia with assets of more than 900 billion rubles

On May 12, 2021, it became known about the creation of Russia's largest non-state pension fund (NPF) with assets exceeding 900 billion rubles.

According to Kommersant, the pension division of the association of the Region group and the Rossium concern will include the Bolshoi NPF. The deal was closed in April 2021. The company ranked eighth in terms of pension savings (49.4 billion rubles).

Later, Telecom Union (22.7 billion rubles) and Federation (6.5 billion rubles) should join the association. The total base of all funds of the group as of March 31, 2021 was 10.6 million insured under the OPS and 0.8 million NGO participants.

Comparable, although smaller in volume, by May 2021 are Sberbank NPF (748 billion rubles of assets), Gazfond Pension Savings (615 billion rubles), Otkritie (612 billion rubles), Gazfond (528 billion rubles), Welfare (468 billion rubles). Thus, the largest funds will account for about 85% of the assets of the non-state part of the pension industry, the newspaper notes.

Among the parties that claimed to buy Bolshoi, in addition to the Region, the newspaper's interlocutors call Promsvyazbank, Rosselkhozbank and VTB. As a result, in April, the NPF was acquired by Sergey Sudarikov, a member of the Region group - Rossium, Leningradskoye Adagio IC, owned by the majority shareholder of Region Group of Companies, one of Kommersant's sources said. At the same time, the Bolshoi edition confirmed the fact of its sale.

The process of consolidating the pension assets of Region Group of Companies and Rossum Concern will begin in May 2021 and will last until 2022 in several stages.

The active consolidation of the pension industry by the structures of Sergei Sudarikov, who is the majority shareholder of the Region, began in the second half of 2018.[1]
