2021: Creation of a company for the development of VR in retail

On March 12, 2021, it became known about the creation of Bosco BP LLC, which will develop virtual () VR and () technologies augmented reality AR in retail. This is a joint project of a group of companies (Bosco di Ciliegi the main shareholder of Moscow, GUM develops the clothing brand of the same name) and the developer of AR/VR applications "" (88% Nomex belongs to the structure of the former prime minister of Chechnya). Sergey Abramov

According to Kommersant, 49% of Bosco BP will receive Nomix, and 51% will receive Bosco di Ciliegi. Starting investments in joint ventures exceed 100 million rubles, partners told the publication.

As part of the collaboration, a special application will be created for the department store with VR elements, which will be available on PCs, iOS-based devices and Android. Users with stand-alone or wired VR glasses will be able to walk through the departments of the virtual store, review the goods and buy them.

The company intends to return the company's investments through the lease of spaces inside the GUM VR, as well as through the sale of advertising to brands in the application, Sergey Abramov told the newspaper. He expects that the demand for purchases in VR will increase in the next three years.

An obstacle to the development of the project may be the weak distribution of VR devices in Russia, said a top manager of one of the retailers contacted by Kommersant. According to the interlocutor of the publication, talk about the launch of the same virtual primer on the market is not the first year, but so far not a single project has been fully completed. Perhaps in the future, VR technologies in retail will develop by analogy with QR codes, with which you can find out additional information about products, the expert admits.

There are already projects using VR in the Russian retail market, but the technology was not used to recreate the entire space of the shopping center before, Sofia Kofmann, founder of the HiPO platform, told the publication. The success of the project, she said, will depend on which brands will participate in it.
