2024: Launch of a malt plant for beer for 200 million rubles

In early May 2024, a plant for the production of malt for beer was launched in the Kaliningrad region. We are talking about the project of the company "Breeze."

According to the press service of the administration of the Kaliningrad region, 200 million rubles were invested in this enterprise, and half of this amount was provided by the regional Entrepreneurship Support Fund.

Beer malt factory launched

This plant plans to produce about 9 thousand tons of finished products per year and create about 20 workplaces. For the manufacture of malt, barley grown in the region will be used - the corresponding agreement was concluded with the Dolgov Group group of companies.

It is assumed that production volumes will cover the needs of the region and supply finished products to enterprises in the brewing industry. According to the regional Ministry of Agriculture, earlier Russian brewing companies mainly used foreign raw materials. Another promising area is the production of brewing granulated hops. Up to 95% of this type of raw material is imported in Russia due to the almost complete absence of its industrial production. At the same time, according to entrepreneurs, the climatic conditions of the Kaliningrad region are very suitable for growing hops.

The volume of processing is not yet the one in which we aim... But these are the first steps, and I would like to agree now that we will also implement a hop project, because this will seriously increase the presence of our products in the all-Russian market, which is now represented by only a few projects. Taking into account our geography, the climate would be interesting to engage in the cultivation and processing of hops here, - said the Governor of the Kaliningrad Region Anton Alikhanov.
