2022: Reduction of 30% of specialists in Ukrainian representation

In May 2022, it became known about mass layoffs in the Ukrainian representative office of the IT company Brightfin. About 30% of office employees fell under dismissal.

The dismissal was reported by the publication DOU with reference to its informants. Brightfin Marketing Director Keith Jensen confirmed the information about the liquidation of work positions in the brightfin representative office in Ukraine. According to DOU, we are talking about 50 specialists. Dismissed employees were paid severance pay.

On May 18, 2022, shortened Brightfin workers lost access to working tools. In particular, they could not use their accounts in the Microsoft and Teamwork programs.

According to employees, the reason for the layoffs was the ongoing Russian special operation in Ukraine, as well as the reluctance to open access to Ukrainian employees "due to the security situation."

According to the American leadership, the reason was "the desire of international customers to attract resources outside Ukraine."

Brightfin is developing cloud solutions for Technology Spend Management (TEM), IT Finance Management (ITFM), IT Assets, Mobile, Telecommunications and Cloud Costs. Brightfin software helps large companies (B2B) manage everything related to telecommunications and cloud services, as well as reduce labor costs, accelerate processes and reduce operating costs, the IT vendor website says.

Thus, foreign IT companies reduce or close business not only in Russia, but also in Ukraine. At the same time, it is known that in the Russian Federation, companies began to be dismissed or transferred to lower positions of IT specialists of Ukrainian origin, writes RBC with reference to two participants in the IT market. This information was confirmed to the publication by the head. ANO "Information Culture" Ivan Begtin According to him, such an unspoken requirement may come from state customers of companies.
