2026: Department head Tatyana Sokolova arrested, accused of fictitious employment

In February 2026, a criminal case was opened in Nizhny Novgorod on the fact of fraud on an especially large scale against Pavel Zubeev, acting chief physician of the City Hospital No. 33, and his daughter, head of the ophthalmology department, Tatyana Sokolova. It is alleged that, in fact, fulfilling her duties in private clinics, Sokolova was simultaneously on the staff of a state hospital and received wages there. Read more here
