2021: Project launch for children with disabilities and those without parents
The Coddy School of Programming for Children, with the support of Acer, has launched an educational project for children with disabilities and children left without parents. This became known on January 20, 2021.
Children from 7 to 18 years old from all over Russia can take part in the program. The school issues grants for free training in programming, design, cybersecurity, the basics of entrepreneurship, as well as various "soft" skills such as financial literacy or oratory. In total, the school's lineup for January 2021 includes 76 courses in the most popular digital areas, so the organizers are confident that every child will find something to their liking.
Training takes three months. During this time, the program participant will master the basic knowledge of the subject in order to continue to study freely on his own. You can study in person - at one of the almost 400 school sites in Moscow and other regions - or online. Acer has provided laptops to those children who, due to frequent examinations and rehabilitation, need portable equipment.
| Programming and other digital skills that we teach guys have one very important advantage. All of them are available in remote format. It doesn't matter - in Uryupinsk you either in Moscow, in a big city or a small village, move in a wheelchair or on your own feet - you can become the best of the best, the new Bill Gates. We want to help children who are deprived of the most basic - good health or loving parents - live and succeed on equal terms with those who are more fortunate in this life, "says Oksana Selendeeva, founder of Coddy School. |
| Acer's mission over nearly half a century of history is to break down barriers between people and technology. Our joint project with Coddy is just about this. Giving children who set high goals for themselves the opportunity to learn and have productive mobile devices for this is the little that we can do for our common future, "comments Dmitry Kravchenko, CEO of Acer in Russia. |
An important idea of the program is classes on an equal footing. Training takes place in groups, along with other students. The program is not changed for a "special" child: he studies the course on a par with the rest, receives 100% of knowledge without restrictions. The teacher can only pay a little more attention to him, more often communicate with his parents and more actively help with homework.
The number of grants in each region is limited, they are allocated on a competitive basis.
The first grant holders for January 2021 have already begun training at Coddy.
