Business in Russia

2023: Claim for damages from X5

As TAdviser found out, in 2023 X5 filed a lawsuit for compensation for losses in the amount of about 245 million rubles against the Russian subsidiary Comarch - Komarh LLC. In explanations to the financial accounting of Komarch LLC for 2022, published in the database of the Federal Tax Service, it is said that the company, as of March 2023, was in the process of resolving the legal claim from X5. As a result, the Russian retailer refused the claims. Probably, the claim was settled peacefully.

At the moment, Kh5 has no claims against the vendor and does not use his products, - the company told TAdviser in early June 2023.

2022

Disconnecting the largest Russian retailer from the solution for processing the loyalty program

Based on the Comarch solution, the processing of the loyalty program of the largest Russian retailer, X5, worked. In March, Comarch suddenly disconnected the X5 from this system, which is why the loyalty program in the Perekrestok and Pyaterochka retail chains stopped working. Millions of buyers have become unavailable to write off and accrue points, favorite category of products, personal offers, coupon checks, etc.

In September, in a corporate blog on the Habr portal, X5 representatives said that the vendor refused their company to support the system, and it stopped working.

Since the system was located on the vendor's cloud servers, and we did not have access to the database or code, we could not independently resume the work of this solution. To our great regret, this led to the loyalty program being unavailable to our customers, the X5[1] blog post said[2].

In a few months, X5 transferred loyalty processing to a Russian-developed solution - Loymax. The work of the loyalty program was restored in full.

Statement on termination of activities in Russia

On March 4, 2022, the global Comarch announced the termination of activities in Russia amid the situation in Ukraine and sanctions. This was done not in the form of a separate message, but between cases, in the report on financial results for the four quarters of 2021^[3].

2005: Establishment of a subsidiary in Russia

According to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, in 2005 Komarch LLC was formed - a 100% subsidiary of the Polish Comarch.
