History

2022: Start of production of protective enclosures for electric vehicle batteries

On August 23, 2022, it became known about the production of protective aluminum cases for electric vehicle batteries in the Moscow Technopolice Special Economic Zone (SEZ). We are talking about the project of NPO "Composite," the company invested about 60 million rubles in it.

Cases, which NPO Composite will begin to produce in the fall of 2022, retain and protect battery modules of electric vehicles from external influences. By August 2022, many of these buildings are made of steel, but aluminum has a number of advantages - for example, lightness, said Mikhail Filimonov, CEO of the company. A resident of the special economic zone of Moscow will produce protective cases of various shapes and sizes that can adapt to the characteristics of battery modules.

According to the head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy Vladislav Ovchinsky, by August 23, 2022, the company installed new equipment at its enterprise located at the site of the special economic zone of Moscow in Pechatniki.

Production of protective cases for electric vehicle batteries begins in Moscow

It is noted that the battery case market is becoming more and more technologically advanced in terms of both the materials used and their processing processes. The resident of the special economic zone is engaged in leveling the surface of sheet metal, chamfering, removing burrs, drilling and screwing.

Gennady Degtev, General Director of the Technopolice Moscow SEZ, noted that interest in this market is natural, and high-tech enterprises in the capital are systematically developing their production with the support of the city. Degtev cited data from the International Energy Agency, according to which 2 million hybrid and electric cars were sold worldwide in the first quarter of 2022.^[1]
