2021: Consortium
On July 6, 2021, it became known that Sinara - Transport Machines Holding, Ural Federal University, the Institute of High-Temperature Electrochemistry of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Agency for Technological Development and Advans Engineering entered into a cooperation agreement. The document provides for the creation of a consortium of organizations in the field of development of transport systems based on power plants using hydrogen fuel.
The Consortium plans to jointly develop and implement technologies for the design and production of hydrogen fuel cells and electrolyzers (including solid oxide: LTTE and TOC), electrochemical generators and power plants based on hydrogen fuel cells, as well as relevant technologies for urban transport systems and railways, as well as jointly promote services and software in the field of digital engineering in transport engineering and develop training in this field.
STM Holding in the Consortium will be represented by the Research Center (NIC STM). The staff of the center will be directly involved in the development of fuel cells and their further introduction into production.
The use of hydrogen as the main source of energy is one of the priority vectors for the development of rail and public transport around the world. The development and creation of efficient hydrogen fuel cells, which can later be integrated into various types of technology, is a priority task of our association. We are talking about shunting and trunk locomotives, and about urban public transport (algae), "said Alexander Misharin, chairman of the STM board of directors. |
This is a very promising ambitious project that is able to incorporate the best developments of our scientists for implementation in industry, "said Rector of Ural Federal University Viktor Koksharov at the signing. - We are taking a very important step in the creation of transport infrastructure. It is very important that the project is supported by very large organizations that are interested in its development and with which our university already has successful experience in interaction. |
A separate task of the Consortium will be to create joint expert groups that facilitate participation in the development and implementation of integrated programs and projects, as well as the promotion of digital engineering methods and tools in industrial enterprises. The agreement provides for the launch of special network educational programs for the training of engineering personnel of the latest generation in the field of digital engineering.
The effectiveness of cooperation between organizations will be ensured through the use of the formed information and technology infrastructure based on information networks and the computing capabilities of signatories, as well as the creation of collective use centers for the material and technical bases of all parties to the agreement.
The creation of the Consortium is being implemented under the auspices of the Ural Interregional Scientific and Educational Center (UMNOC), a conglomerate of technical universities, scientific and industrial Ural enterprises[1].
