Contactor (Legrand)

The Contactor plant, located in the Ulyanovsk region, is one of the largest Russian manufacturers of electrical equipment.

Products

The enterprise produces protective and switching equipment, assembles Legrand uninterruptible power supplies. The assortment of products of the Contactor plant includes traditional low-voltage automatic circuit breakers for currents from 40 to 6300 A of VA series, A3790, A3790U, AV2M, disconnectors and switches RYe19, B61 for currents up to 6300 A, cabinets for controlling the input of backup power, LVA and PTS.

The plant operates a quality management system certified for compliance with the requirements of GOST ISO 9001-2015, which guarantees the reliability and operational safety of the products. Compliance with the requirements of the enterprise standards ensures the necessary level of quality at all stages: from the development and testing when putting products into serial production to control at the stage of packaging, storage and shipment of products.

The plant's products are used in most enterprises of energy-intensive industries in Russia and countries of near and far abroad, and also ensures uninterrupted operation of the most important facilities of the Ulyanovsk region. For example, the equipment of the Contactor plant was used to power the lighting of the road to the Presidential Bridge over the Volga River: three kiosk transformer substations of the KTPK type with a capacity of 40 kVA, 10/0.4 kV were designed and manufactured at the enterprise. The presidential bridge is of federal importance, being an important section of the transport corridor connecting the western part of Russia with the Urals, Siberia and the Far East.

In the near future, Legrand plans to open a new training and demonstration complex (UDC) on the basis of the test laboratory of the Contactor plant. This training center will provide trainings, seminars and webinars, as well as practical sessions on the installation of accessories, installation and adjustment of circuit breakers for all interested specialists. Legrand also plans to create training centers on the basis of technical educational institutions of the region, in particular the Ulyanovsk State Technical University and the Ulyanovsk Railway College.

History

2023: Sale of Legrand's entire business to  IEK Group

2017:10 years with Legrand

In 2017, the Contactor plant celebrated 10 years as part of the Legrand Group, a specialist in electrical and information systems of buildings. Contactor is one of the Russian plants of the electrical industry, whose products are used in most enterprises of the energy-intensive industries of Russia, as well as countries of near and far abroad.

The history of the localization of the production of Legrand Group began with the Ulyanovsk plant "Contactor." Just six years later, in 2013, a second production was launched, also located in the Ulyanovsk region. At two sites, the production of more than 30% of the equipment presented on the Russian market is localized.

At the Contactor plant, 200 nomenclature units of products are produced, including protective and switching equipment, cable-carrying systems and other electrical equipment, as well as assembly of uninterruptible power supplies and capacitor plants. The company continues to play an important role in the development of Legrand's business in the Russian and CIS markets.

The Legrand Group continues to invest in localizing production. On May 11, 2017, the company began construction of a plant for the production and assembly of electrical equipment located in the Zavolzhye industrial zone of the Ulyanovsk region.

2010-2015: Replenishment of the model range of low-voltage equipment with Kpro series devices

Since 2010, the model range of low-voltage equipment has been replenished with Kpro series devices, which includes circuit breakers from 1 to 6000 A. In 2015, a new generation circuit breaker of the VA57-35 series was launched on the market, and since 2015, the Electron circuit breaker has been gradually replaced with Electron Pro, which is fully adapted to the corresponding low-voltage complete devices (LVA).

2007: Joining the Legrand group

In 2007, the Contactor plant became part of the Group, Legrand which was an important stage in the development of Legrand's business in the market Russia and. From countries CIS that moment on, a gradual modernization of production began, and the range of products was significantly expanded.

1964: Joining the "Contactor" of the test center of electrical equipment

Since 1964, the Ulyanovsk enterprise has included a unique test center for electrical equipment (ICEO), which has a modern material and technical base and highly qualified personnel.
