2025: Destiny bought Daedalean for $223m
In early August 2025, it became known that the manufacturer, drones Destinus founded by the former owner of the Russian network, "Technosila" Mikhail Kokorich was buying the Swiss company Daedalean, which develops aircraft autopilot systems. The transaction amount is $223 million.
Daedalean was founded in 2016. Initially, she specialized in vertical take-off and landing electric aircraft, which were planned to be used as an air taxi. However, the commercialization of such systems was difficult and Daedalean expanded its scope. In particular, the company develops machine learning software and a specialized camera system that aircraft can use to detect obstacles and map terrain without satellites or global positioning systems.
It is assumed that the acquisition of Daedalean will expand the capabilities of Destiny in the field of artificial intelligence in the development of attack drones and hypersonic aircraft. Kokorich said that Destinus has worked closely with Daedalean in the past, and the acquired technologies are planned to be used for both military and civilian purposes. According to him, the purchase of Daedalean is a "logical next step" in the framework of cooperation between the two companies.
According to Bloomberg, European countries are interested in the development of autonomous weapons systems in connection with achievements in the field of electronic warfare. Kokorich said Daedalean's developments will help his company's aircraft navigate the space without relying on satellite navigation systems. The merger is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2025.[1]
