Le Pain Quotidien International has been around for over 20 years. Chain owner Alan Kumon opened the first coffee shop in 1990 in Brussels. For 2013, branded cafes are represented in 14 countries, in more than 30 cities.

2025: Shutdown

The chain of bakeries "Daily Bread" almost completely stopped working in Moscow. This became known on November 19, 2025.

As Vedomosti reports, indirect confirmation of the closure includes the lack of the ability to make an online order on the corporate website, as well as the termination of publications on the brand's social networks from May to August 2025. Yandex Kart users reported non-working terminals in bakeries, where settlements were made exclusively in cash or through bank transfers.

Russian chain of bakeries "Daily Bread" stops working

Earlier, the Telegram channel "Opening and closing restaurants in Moscow" reported on the closure of network points in 2nd Smolensk Lane and on Lesnoy Street. Information about the latter, according to Vedomosti, is already missing on the official resource. Correspondents of the publication checked two other bakeries on Lomonosovsky and Michurinsky avenues. On the doors of both establishments there are announcements about the suspension of activities for technical reasons.

The management company of the bakery chain, Royal Bakery LLC, was declared bankrupt in 2024. Entrepreneur Ekaterina Ivanova is indicated as the contact person of the network for November 2025. According to Vedomosti, obtained from the SPARK-Interfax system, she also owns the Daily Bread - Taganka company. This organization can also be declared bankrupt, since the Moscow Arbitration Court accepted a statement of claim against it for production.

Elena Perepelitsa, CEO of RestCon, highlighted several reasons for the deterioration of the network. Among them are a decrease in product quality, debt to suppliers and the gradual closure of points. Anna Rozhdestvenskaya, head of the Franshiza.ru franchise catalog, pointed to an increase in rental payments at bakery locations, increased competition in the market, increased production costs and the transition of some regular customers to more budgetary formats.[1]

2020: Tony Mayer primary owner

The main owner of LPQ Russia is Tony Mayer, known for leading the dairy producer Wimm-Bill-Dann in Russia in 2006-2011, and then the O'Kay retail chain. In the parent LPQ Russia Ltd, as indicated in the British register of the company, it owns from 25 to 50%.
