History
2025: Spend ₽1,8 bn on procuring industrial robots and other electric train manufacturing equipment
As it became known in December 2025, the Demikhovsky Machine-Building Plant, part of the TMH holding, invested more than ₽1,8 billion in the development of the industrial complex. The funds are aimed at purchasing modern high-tech equipment, including industrial robots, for the production of electric trains using localized electrical equipment. Of the total amount of ₽1,45 billion in the form of a concessional loan, the federal Industrial Development Fund provided.
As part of the project, the plant acquired turning, milling, grinding processing centers with program control and a complex of thermal processing of domestic production. This made it possible to master the production of new products - gearboxes for electric trains and metro cars. The company also created a new competence center for the production of gearboxes for various purposes and increased the capacity for the repair of rolling stock.
Director of the Industrial Development Fund Roman Petrutsa said that transport engineering is one of the priority areas of financing the fund. Transmashholding enterprises, with the involvement of FRP loans, are developing the production of domestic locomotives, passenger cars, engines and other key components for railway transport.
Roman Petrutsa explained that the Demikhovsky Machine-Building Plant, due to a loan from the FRP, has established the production of fully Russian electric trains and new gearboxes for rolling stock. Concessional financing allowed the company to accelerate the modernization of production facilities and introduce modern metal processing technologies.
In 2024, the company began mass-producing gearboxes for Oriole 4.0 electric trains produced by the Tver Car Building Plant, also part of TMH. By the end of 2024, the plant reached a production capacity of 600 units per year. The company began to produce gearboxes for metro cars of the Moscow series. Taking this into account, the production capacity is 1200 products per year.[1]
2020:22 types of electric trains developed and more than 9500 cars produced
As of August 2020, the enterprise has production facilities located on an area of 47.2 hectares. The number of DMZ employees is about 2500 people.
Over 28 years of production of suburban electric trains, the DMZ team has developed 22 types of electric trains and produced more than 9500 cars.
Manufactured electric trains are operated in all climatic zones of the Russian Federation - from Smolensk to Vladivostok, from Murmansk to Adler, as well as in the CIS countries.
2005: Joining Transmashholding
Since 2005, it has been part of Transmashholding JSC.
1992: Commuter train production begins
The production of domestic suburban electric trains on the basis of the Demikhovsky Machine-Building Plant has been underway since 1992.
