History
2023: Katerina Tikhonova invested in the NTC "Drive Technology"
On December 29, 2023, Investment Management LLC Technological Investment Fund (FTI), owned by the head of Innopraktika Katerina Tikhonova and her first deputy Natalya Popova, announced the acquisition of a 10 percent stake in the Chelyabinsk Scientific and Technical Center "Drive Technology ." The financial terms of the agreement are not disclosed as of that date.
It is noted that the attracted investments will be aimed at developing production, including increasing the production of current converters, the demand for which, after leaving the Russian market of world instrument-making giants, significantly exceeds the capabilities of the Chelyabinsk enterprise. Funds are also needed to strengthen competition with global producers of similar products as part of import substitution.
We acquired a stake in the company, including through a bank loan secured by property, - said Popova, commenting on the deal. |
As part of the agreement, the founders of Drive Technology Sergey, Artem and Yevgeny Chupin reduced their shares in the enterprise: each of them owns 30% as a result of the transaction. Sergey Chupin says that the new investor offered the best conditions, and also supported the refusal of the founders of "Drive Technology" from the strategy of mergers and acquisitions.
It was hard for us to find a perfectly fit investor. Understanding and sharing our values of development, and at the same time not a major player who is more interested in buying our competencies and technologies. We are glad that we found a like-minded person in FTI Investment Management LLC, which offered the best conditions, "emphasizes Sergei Chupin. |
As of the end of 2023, the total staff of "Drive Technology" exceeds 1200 people. The group includes six enterprises, four of which are located in Chelyabinsk and Snezhinsk. There are also production and storage facilities in Nizhnevartovsk and Nefteyugansk.[1]
