2021: Magnit creates a separate division for e-commerce

On July 15, 2021, Magnit announced the creation of a separate division for the development of e-commerce projects and the corresponding infrastructure. It was headed by the former general director of Delivery Club Andrei Donbass.

According to the press service of Magnit, has been appointed to the post of director of e-commerce, where he will be responsible for the development of the retailer's online sales channels and directly subordinate to the general director Jan Dunning. The latter commented on the reorganization of the company as follows:

Magnit has ambitious plans for the development of both the main offline business and e-commerce. We continue to develop a number of successful projects in both segments of the business and want to move in these areas faster. This also applies to the IT infrastructure, which requires rapid development and effective integration into the key business processes of the Company. Organizational changes will support our plans.

Magnet forms a separate division for e-commerce

In addition to e-commerce, Magnit singled out the development of technology and IT infrastructure, as well as advanced analytics and Big Data.

It is noted that the changes made are aimed at simplifying and accelerating the decision-making process, ensuring a higher quality of cross-functional interaction and faster development of Magnit e-commerce infrastructure and the introduction of modern IT systems. The retailer expects to ultimately accelerate the pace of development of online retail and the digital transformation of its entire business.

In 2021, the company plans to expand online delivery by adding at least 1,500 stores at home, drogerie and large-format stores in more than 50 regions of Russia.

As a result of changes in the organizational structure of Magnit, the position of executive director and deputy general director, which by July 15, 2021, is occupied by Florian Jansen, will be abolished.
