2024: Launch of a plant for the production of programmable logic controllers for 400 million rubles

In October 2024, a Nizhny Novgorod new plant for the production of programmable logic controllers (PLC) operating under control was opened in. operating system Linux The project was implemented by Continent ETS LLC, a member of the group of companies, with "Uzola" a total investment of more than ₽400 million.

According to Interfax, a significant part of the funding was provided by the Industrial Development Fund (FRP) of Russia and its regional division in the Nizhny Novgorod region. The Federal FRP provided a preferential loan in the amount of ₽63 million, and the regional - ₽47 million.

The new company specializes in the production of PLC kits, including a processor module, chassis module, discrete and analog input and output modules, as well as specialized modules. The composition of each kit can vary depending on the needs of the customer.

A feature of the product is the use of Linux or RTOS software with Codesys support. The company also develops its own software for the development and execution environment, which will allow in the future to completely replace the imported Codesys environment.

Developed by Continent ES, the digital platform for managing flexible production systems is compatible with a wide range of industrial data network standards, including EtherCAT, Profibus/Profinet, CANopen, ModbusTCP/ModbusRTU. This ensures high versatility and adaptability of products to various industrial systems.

The production capacity of the new plant is up to 5 thousand PLC sets per year. The main sales markets are planned for Russia and the countries of the Customs Union, with a special focus on domestic oil and gas and mining and metallurgical companies.^[1]
