2020: Zscaler purchased Edgewise Networks

On May 28, 2020 Zscaler announced Edgewise Networks acquisition. Financial terms of transaction are not disclosed.

Edgewise Networks increases security of traffic "East-West" (i.e. transferred between servers in data center), verifying authenticity of the software, services and processes for achievement of the environment of zero trust which considerably reduces the probability of the attacks and risk of a compromise of applications and data.

In the modern world of cloud computing and mobile devices ensuring protection by erection of barriers on perimeter of the organization lost relevance. Modern security should provide protection of users, applications and data. The solutions Zscaler provide protection of connections between users and applications on a basis the business politician, without banishing their traffic through corporate network. Purchase of Edgewise will allow the company to expand the offer and to protect traffic between applications in public clouds and data centers.

Edgewise detects separate applications and studies their legitimate network interaction. Then, using artificial intelligence and machine learning, automatically creates the authorized communication channel.
