2019: The USA found in Moscow "the biggest hacker grouping in the history"

At the beginning of December, 2019 the U.S. Department of the Treasury called Evil Corp company the largest hacker grouping in the history and stated that it is based in Moscow.

The American authorities connected with Evil Corp of 17 people accused of cybercrimes and plunder more than $100 million at hundreds of banks worldwide. Affirms that for cracking the Dridex virus was used.

The American government suspected functioning of Moscow of the largest hacker grouping

Initially the name Dridex was appropriated to a classical bank trojan which appeared in 2011 and stole bank credentials from the infected hosts, implementing fake pages of the login in browsers of the victims. Began to associate with the name Dridex also other harmful activity later

In what countries, in addition to the USA, hackers acted, the ministry did not specify, but it is approximately about 40 states. Affected banks were also not called, however, according to the Bloomberg agency, Bank of America can be one of them.

Also cybergrouping is accused of theft of means at corporations. It is reported that the Penneco Oil oil company lost millions of dollars which were directed then to Minsk.

The U.S. Department of Justice considers Maxim Yakubts the head of the Evil Corp organization. According to department, the personality of the Russian was identified by his e-mail. Details of "transaction" were disclosed to the American court by the FBI agent Jacob Foylz, it is told on the website of the American Ministry of Justice.

As reported, in this case the USA was helped by the Russian law enforcement agencies. So, in July, 2010 the USA was officially asked the Russian Federation to help with identification of the hacker on his e-mail address aquamo@mail.ru. They defined the IP address and the address in Moscow, "delivered on control" the phone number found in mail correspondence and established that it was used by Yakubets.[1]
