2025: Conclusion of an agreement on the construction of a 3D printer plant in Tomsk
A plant for the production of 3D printers under the FabMetal brand will build Rosatom in Tomsk. This was announced on June 18, 2025 by the press service of the governor of the Tomsk region. The project is implemented within the framework of a tripartite agreement concluded with the participation of the state corporation, regional authorities and specialized organizations.
The agreement on the construction of a plant in Tomsk was signed by Governor Vladimir Mazur, General Director of Rosatom LLC. Additive Technologies "Ilya Kavelashvili and Director of FabMetal LLC Alexander Rau. The parties agreed to create a joint venture to produce electron beam equipment on the territory of the Tomsk Special Economic Zone.
The new enterprise will be engaged in the development, production and commercialization of electron beam hardware complexes, which are planned to be used in high-tech industries. According to the terms of the agreement, the plant in Tomsk will produce components for the aviation, space, nuclear and instrument-making industries.
In the Special Economic Zone "Tomsk" by 2029 it is planned to build an administrative and production complex with an area of about 7 thousand. sq. m for the needs of the new enterprise. The project also provides for the creation of about 100 jobs.
Governor Vladimir Mazur noted that the new production is aimed at achieving the technological sovereignty of Russia in electronics, medicine, materials science and other industries. The project will reduce dependence on imported supplies, will reduce the production time and its cost.
Tomsk SEZ is one of the seven technical and introduction zones of Russia. The special economic zone was opened in April 2006 and brings together more than 70 high-tech companies.[1]
