Federalnoye gosudarstvennoye unitarnoye predpriyatiye Research Institute Kvant (Federal State Unitary Enterprise Scientific Research Institute Kvant), based on the right of economic management, it is created in January, 1978.

Federal State Unitary Enterprise Scientific Research Institute Kvant is the commercial legal entity created for satisfaction of the state and public needs for creation of special technical and software tools. Scientific Research Institute Kvant is occupied with development and production of ADP equipment of special and civil appointment, special technical means of communication and creation of information security tools.

Core activities of institute are:

• carrying out basic, exploratory and application scientific research, research and development in the field of creation of electronic ADP equipment, technology of communication and telecommunications, systems and data processing facilities and products of radio-electronic and ADP equipment;
• development, production, implementation, repair, warranty and post warranty service of the electronic and computing means and complexes of special and civil appointment including containing precious metals;
• research and forecasting of development of special technical means of communication;
• foreign economic activity;
• work, the information security tools connected with creation;
• development, production, implementation and acquisition for the purpose of sale of computer engineering means and systems;
• development, production, implementation and repair of electronic products of civil appointment, consumer goods;
• accomplishment of eco-analytical works on the accredited directions, including carrying out production control over state of environment and receiving basic eco-analytical information;
• development, certification and certification of the test equipment and measuring instruments, checking, calibration and repair of metering equipment;
• rendering scientific, technical, design, computing, information, consulting services.
