Fund of Development Internet (FDI)

Activity of Fund is directed on:

• assistance to development of global information networks and information infrastructure in society;
• assistance to implementation of advanced developments, the ideas, projects for application in telecommunication networks;
• assistance to development of legal support in the Internet;
• support of scientific research in the field of communication and information technologies, etc.

The fund issues the Deti V Informatsionnom Obshchestve magazine.

History

In 2009 Fund of Development the Internet acted as the initiator of creation of the Organizing committee on carrying out Year of the Safe Internet in Russia. And with its participation within a Year of the Safe Internet were carried out by fund: the conferences, forums, seminars and round tables devoted to questions of protection of children and teenagers in network, a problem of creation of safe Internet space; the different projects focused on audience of Internet users for children and young people and aimed at the development of positive content in networks, increase in awareness on safe use online of technologies are implemented. The last project is carried out based on the European methodology of the research "EU KIDS ONLINE II" within the Safe Internet program supported by the European Commission.

By fund it is organized and full-time employment of psychologists-consultants in the mode telephone and online consultations on the Line of the help Children of Online is conducted. The staff of Fund develops and holds the training seminars and trainings for employees of educational and educational institutions, psychologists and school students.

2020: The rights to the domain.su passed from FRI to Roskomnadzor

In October, 2020 the prime minister Mikhail Mishustin signed the order which he appointed Roskomnadzor the founder of ANO Russian Research Institute of Development of Public Networks (owns the rights to the domain zone.su of the USSR) on behalf of Russia. Representatives of Russia in governing bodies RIPN will be appointed by Roskomnadzor. Read more here.
