2021: Opening of cultivated meat factory in Israel
At the end of June 2021 Israel , the world's first production factory opened in. laboratory-grown meat The owners claim that the new enterprise is able to provide up to 5,000 hamburgers with meat without slaughter of livestock daily.
"The world's first industrial plant for meat cultivation" was opened by the Israeli biotechnology company Future Meat and is ready to produce up to 500 kg of artificial meat products daily. At the same time, the company claims that its factory can produce meat 10 times faster than traditional farms for raising and breeding animals. Such an advantage may soon radically change the market, say developers of artificial meat.
In a press release, CEO Rom Kshuk noted that the opening of the new enterprise marks a huge step for Future Meat Technologies towards commercial success and will be an important factor in bringing the company's products to store shelves by 2022. Future Meat offers customers a choice of artificial chicken meat, pork and lamb, and hopes to release artificial beef in the future.
The emergence of plant-based meat will reduce the anthropogenic impact on the environment, as well as provide real alternatives to the meat of slaughtered animals. Future Meat claims that the work of the new factory emits 80% less greenhouse gases, uses 99% less land and consumes 96% less water than traditional livestock farms. The opening of a new factory could also pave the way for the emergence of other similar enterprises, especially in the USA and the UK, where plant-based alternatives to meat are growing in popularity[1]
