History
2018: Total purchased G2mobility
In September, 2018 Total announced purchase of G2mobility at the price which did not begin to be called. This transaction underlines the aspiration of the oil and gas companies to work in power industry as the automotive industry continues to move in this direction.
Total expands activity in the field of new power sources to be mobile. After acquisitions of PitPoint in Europe 2017 and a 25 percent share of Clean Energy in the USA this year which allowed us to accelerate implementation of fuel on natural gas for vehicles purchase of G2mobility became a key step on the way of improvement of products for charging of electric vehicles — the president on marketing and Total services Momar Nguer said. |
According to him, in 2017 revenue of G2mobility increased by 50%, and the share of the company in the market of charging stations by state orders exceeded 25%. Such indicators provide to Total "new competence for providing even more effective electrical charging systems to our B2B-and B2C-clients", he added.
As noted in the publication of Bloomberg of September 20, 2018, in recent years Total made a number of acquisitions in power whereas the European competitors also invested in the automobile charging systems as the growing use of electric cars threatens demand for petrol and diesel fuel. So, in June, 2018 the British Corporation of BP announced purchase of the supplier of charging stations for the electric vehicles Chargemaster.[1]
