2020: SKB-Bank plan to join the sanitized Gazenergobank

Yekaterinburg SKB Bank intends to join the sanitized Gazenergobank. At the same time, the combined network will be reduced by 35%, and the bank will focus on digital transformation, Kommersant reported on April 28, 2020.

The fact that SKB-Bank intends to change the strategy - to move along the path of digitalization and with a significant reduction in the network of branches, sources in the bank told Kommersant. The plans include the optimization of the office network of SKB Bank (according to the Central Bank, 132 points of different formats) and Gazenergobank, which has been rehabilitated since 2015 (51 points). In the near future, the network will be reduced by 35%.

SKB Bank confirmed this information.

"The branches will be rebuilt into the format of an" easy universal office, "the main tasks of which will be to advise customers and connect to remote services," explained Denis Repnikov, chairman of the board of SKB Bank. "By optimizing the network, costs will be reduced to 50% per year."

It is also planned to close unprofitable points in cities with a population of up to 40-50 thousand, specified in SKB Bank.^[1]

2016: Purchase of 99.99% stake in Gazenergobank by SKB Bank

In January 2016, as part of financial recovery measures, Gazenergobank SKB-Bank acquired a 99.99% stake in Kaluga Bank.

On January 14, 2016, the Bank of Russia registered a report on the results of the additional issue of shares, according to which SKB-Bank became the owner of Gazenergobank.

2015

SKB-Bank - sanatorium Gazenergobank

In 2015, the Central Bank of Russia revoked the license from the main bank of the Life financial group - Probusinessbank, whose subsidiary was Gazenergobank. The state corporation "Deposit Insurance Agency" together with the Central Bank of the Russian Federation approved plans to prevent bankruptcy and selected an investor.

On September 21, 2015, according to the results of the competitive selection, SKB Bank became the sanator of Gazenergobank. The investor proposed the most optimal set of measures aimed at improving the quality of the bank's assets and ensuring uninterrupted settlement and fulfillment of all obligations to customers.^[2]
