Giprogorproekt

The Russian Institute of Urban Planning and Investment Development "Giprogor" was created in 1929 to design master plans for cities and working towns, develop project documentation for new buildings of the first five-year plans. Among the organizers and creative leaders of the institute were the largest domestic scientists and practitioners in the field of urban planning and development.

The Giprogor Project Urban Planning Institute for Spatial Modeling and Development is one of the design institutes that carries out all types of work on spatial development of territories, design and information modeling of buildings and structures, as well as infrastructure facilities.

The team includes candidates of technical sciences, honored architects, specialists in seismology and seismic construction, specialists who have developed and patented author's technologies in design and construction, more than 200 engineers, designers and architects in total. Members of the Giprogor Project team took part in the design of large-scale projects of national importance, such as the Olympic Games in Sochi, the APEC Summit in Vladivostok, the World Cup; designed mountain climatic resorts Arkhyz and Elbrus; performed many works on the spatial development of territories in various constituent entities of the Russian Federation.

Services

The Institute performs the full range of work in the field of urban planning - from the development of territorial planning documents and urban planning zoning, including strategies for the spatial development of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation and urban districts, master plans for the development of cities and municipalities, land use and development rules, area planning projects, prior to the design of industrial and civil buildings and structures, facilities of railway transport infrastructure, hydraulic structures, military facilities, including all stages of the project formation. It develops planning and land surveying projects for the territory of industrial zones (industrial parks), public spaces, tourist and recreational clusters, territories of integrated development, including in the RZT/KURT format.

The Institute performs a full range of work on the formation of design solutions: from the development of an urban planning and architectural concept to the stage of formation of working documentation and author's supervision.

The strategic advantage of the Institute is the use of modern information modeling technologies (BIM-technologies) at all stages of working with the project. We develop information models of buildings, structures and infrastructure facilities (BIM-model), as well as urban planning units and urban spaces (CIM-model, or "digital dynamic general plan" of the territory), relevant not only at the stage of developing a master plan for the development of the city, but also in the process of managing the urban environment.

Specialists use the capabilities of modern software systems of computer-aided design and drawing developed by companies, and Autodesk Bentley Systems , Trimble Tekla at the same time, forming not only three-dimensional information models, but also 4D- and 5D-models, which also include the timing and cost of construction for different levels of detail. With the help of BIM technologies, the institute solves a number of urgent problems - the information model displays the entire life cycle of the object: from the draft design and further through working drawings, construction and operation until its dismantling. The use of BIM technologies eliminates the risks of unforeseen costs at the construction and operation stage.

The Institute takes part in the creation of the most important facilities for the country and is the developer of territorial planning and urban planning documents for more than 25 constituent entities of the Russian Federation.

History

2022: Sanctions imposed by Ukraine

On January 22, 2022, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) on sanctions against Russian companies and citizens. In particular, "Giprogor" fell under them. Read more here.
