Population

As of January 1, 2008, the population reached the level of 1209.4 thousand people. Age structure of the population: 56.9% of residents of the republic belong to the able-bodied, 35.1% - younger than working age, 8% - older than working age. According to the 2002 All-Russian Population Census, representatives of about 96 nationalities live in the Chechen Republic. Chechens and Russians are dominant in the national composition of the Chechen Republic.

History

2025: Opening a new government complex in Grozny for 10 billion rubles

On October 5, 2025, a new government complex of buildings was opened in Grozny (Chechen Republic), which will house various ministries and departments. The implementation of the project cost about 10 billion rubles.

The complex consists of three main blocks, which are stylized as "residential" buildings. At the edges are two "watchtowers." The central building has 14 floors, the side - 10 each. The architectural structure is made in the national style. A mosque has been erected on the territory of the complex, capable of accommodating about 1 thousand people.

As the head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov notes, the chairman of the government, the administration, all deputy prime ministers and five ministries will be located in the new buildings. It is assumed that this will increase the efficiency of the work of various government departments and simplify their interaction with each other. It is emphasized that the construction of the complex became possible thanks to the regional public fund named after the first president of the Chechen Republic, Hero of Russia Akhmat-Khadzhi Kadyrov.

The new government complex is impressive in its scope and architecture. A tremendous amount of work has been done here. In turn, the Chairman of the Government of the Chechen Republic Magomed Daudov noted that up to 2 thousand people will be able to work in the new complex in a comfortable and modern environment.^[1]

In early October 2023, it became known about the appointment of Aishat Kadyrova as deputy chairman of the Chechen government for the social bloc. Which areas of activity are included in the area of ​ ​ responsibility of the deputy chairman in charge of the social block is not specified on the official website of the head of the Chechen Republic.
