According to the results of a meeting in GVMU on the use of telemedicine technologies for the benefit of military medicine which took place in September, 2014 the decision on creation of a pilot zone for testing of telemedicine technologies at the "medical company — army hospital — the central hospital" level was made, the Russian Defense Ministry reported. Pilot section should be developed in the central region.
According to the results of a meeting in which representatives of the profile enterprises of the industry participated, the standard list of the medical equipment for equipment of telemedicine subscriber stations was also defined, the directions of development of ICT are specified and also specific developments for equipment of the military-medical organizations are shown.
The chief of GVMU major general of health service Alexander Fisun said that existence in the civil sector of the solutions connected with implementation of telemedicine information technologies in military medicine removes need of carrying out own developmental works from Management. Already finished software products and the hardware of telemedicine are the most relevant for military medicine, he noted.
Alexander Fisun also reported that at the beginning of September, 2014 on the basis of questioning of the leading medical specialists the standard list of the telecommunication and special medical and diagnostic equipment for carrying out telemedicine consultations at the different levels was made. Besides, the preliminary estimate of finance costs on implementation and development of telemedicine technologies in the central hospitals was carried out.
The next plans for development of military telemedicine in Russia earlier, in July, 2014,the Minister of Defence general Sergey Shoygu reported.
"We this year should begin and, I think, within two-three years to complete creation of a complete system of military telemedicine" — he said during a working trip to troops of the Southern Military District.
According to Shoygu, creation of such system is necessary in order that the medical officers working in remote corners of Russia in case of some difficulties, extreme cases could consult quickly online with the colleagues from the lead medical institutions of Moscow and St. Petersburg.
