History
2015: Capgemini absorbs the competitor for $4 billion
The French consulting company Capgemini was going to purchase the American competitor Igate corporation. It was stated on April 27, 2015 by Capgemini.
The transaction is already approved by Boards of Directors of both companies and 54% of shareholders of Igate. The volume of the transaction will be $4 billion.
Igate performs about 80% of the operations in North America. After its purchase from Capgemini the General Electric company and Royal bank of Canada (Royal Bank of Canada) will appear as clients. Revenue of the company in North America will increase approximately by a third.
As expected, purchase of Igate will promote profit increase of Capgemini for 12% in 2016 and for 16% in 2017. As a result of Igate acquisition it will strengthen the directions on providing infrastructure services, business process outsourcing and engineering services
As a result of purchase of the USA will become the largest Capgemini market though the company increased the presence there and own forces. So in the I quarter 2015 Capgemini revenue in North America increased by 34%.
For Igate purchase the French will pay at the rate of $48 for an action while on Friday at the time of closing of the stock Igate on NASDAQ were offered at the price of $45.85.
The transaction will be financed by the cash which is available for Capgemini and also again released debt obligations and stocks of the company (no more than 6% of the capital).
