2017

Civil Aviation Innovation Center

On October 25, 2017, Innodata announced the creation, together with the leading Russian IT university Innopolis, of the Center for Innovation in Civil Aviation. The purpose of the association is to develop a technological and digital presence in modern civil aviation, to promote the disclosure of the essence and significance of modern technologies that affect supply and demand for players in the aviation industry, and to integrate the innovations of the digital world into current civil aviation technologies.

The Center for Innovation in Civil Aviation will focus on scientific research on problems in the field of pricing, flight profitability, passenger service at the airport and on board, aircraft service and other related tasks. Specialists will be engaged in a joint study of the practical application of Big Data, Blockchain, virtual and augmented reality technologies.

In September 2017, Innodata announced that it had received residency in the Innopolis SEZ (Tatarstan)[1]

According to the official press service of the technological cluster, in August 2017, the Supervisory Board was held, at which a positive decision was made on the application of Innodata, which received the status of a resident of the Innopolis SEZ. Obtaining residency is a significant step both for the company itself and for the industry as a whole, since Innodata as a developer will receive a new resource for the development of technological developments carried out by the company, which will contribute to the implementation of important projects and the launch of new technological products and solutions on the Russian market.

As part of its work in Innopolis, Innodata plans to focus on a project to implement the Social Media Platform. The main task of the platform is to download and extract valuable information from social network data using big data management technologies.
