2021: ER-Telecom bought International Communications Company LLC
On April 26, 2021, it became known about the purchase by ER-Telecom of three Internet providers in Moscow. We are talking about LLC International Communications Company (ISS), LLC Long-Distance Communications and LLC Telenet. These companies are connected.
According to Kommersant, the acquisition of these communication providers by the ER-Telecom board of directors approved April 23, 2021. Under the terms of the agreement, the federal home Internet provider bought 100% of the ISS from Ivan Slavov, he also owned 50% in the company "Long Distance Communications." Another 50% of Long-Distance Communications was bought from Andrei Shakhin. He also acted as the owner of Telenet LLC. Companies provide wired Internet access, IT telephony and digital TV services in Moscow.
How much ER-Telecom spent on the takeover of these telecom operators is not reported. According to the source of the publication, all companies were bought for about 200 million rubles. The total subscriber base of the acquired companies is more than 50 thousand customers, the source said.
ER-Telecom told the newspaper that M & A transactions and telecom market consolidation are part of the company's strategy for exponential business growth.
Today, the market situation is most favorable for the acquisition of independent players, since the owners of the acquired assets maintain the possibility of a painless exit from business with an acceptable level of profitability in transactions, the company added, noting that Moscow and the Moscow Region are strategically important regions where ER-Telecom is going to increase its presence. |
As of the beginning of 2021, ER-Telecom is the largest largest Internet provider in Russia with a subscriber base of 3.83 million connections after MTS (3.84 million users) and Rostelecom (12.35 million subscribers).[1]
