Invuity is the American company specializing in development and sale of surgical lighting instruments for miniinvasive interventions. The Intelligent Photonics technology patented by the company provides high-quality visualization at surgical interventions, increasing their efficiency and security.

Scope of application includes operations for a breast cancer and reconstruction of a breast, gynecologic transactions and interventions on a thyroid gland. Besides, the equipment Invuity is used for the general surgeries, in the field of electrophysiology and orthopedics. The headquarters of the company is located in San Francisco, the USA.

History

2018: Stryker purchased Invuity for $190 million

On September 12, 2018 the Stryker company which is engaged in equipment manufacturing for miniinvasive transactions announced acquisition of all issued shares of Invuity approximately for $190 million. In accordance with the terms the final agreement, the Stryker subsidiary company should acquire within the tender offer the majority of outstanding shares of Invuity at the price of $7.4 apiece.

The agreement provides that right after a successful completion of the provided offer the Stryker subsidiary company will integrate with Invuity, and all remained stocks Invuity will also arrive at the disposal of Stryker if she wishes to redeem them. Stryker intends to carry out transaction by means of own means, i.e. without attraction of the actions.

Stryker purchased the producer of lighting instruments for miniinvasive interventions

The provisional chief executive of Invuity Scott Flora noted that such leader in the world market of surgical devices as Stryker, will provide to Invuity enough resources for further developments and, eventually, for satisfaction of demand of consumers. Taking into account it the Board of Directors of Invuity voted for recommending this transaction to shareholders of Invuity. All directors and executive officials of Invuity signed the support agreement of the transaction.[1]
