Metallinvestbank is universal credit institution with strong market positions in the interbank and currency markets. 2014

In 2014 the net profit of Metallinvestbank was 329.5 million rubles against 760.4 million rubles the previous year. Assets of bank reached 83.8 billion rubles.

History

2016: Hackers stole 677 million rubles

On March 5, 2016 it became known of hacker cracking of the IT system of PJSC JSB Metallinvestbank as a result of which hundreds of millions rubles were stolen.

According to RIA Novosti with the link a source in  law enforcement agencies, unknown criminals displaid  more than 677 million rubles from accounts of Metallinvestbank. Suspect of credit institution that hackers could crack the system of remote access to  a banking system and to transfer funds to several under control accounts, issued on  individuals from where charges can be cashed.

Hackers robbed Metallinvestbank for 677 million rubles

According to the interlocutor of the agency, upon large plunder of money the administration of Metallinvestbank contacted police. The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Moscow confirmed to RIA Novosti the similar address, but did not tell either a bank name, or the amount of damage.

As specifies LifeNews, the chairman of the board of financial institution filed on March 1, 2016 a petition to law enforcement agencies concerning robbery of Metallinvestbank.

As reported in the press service of Metallinvestbank, the most part from what was stolen, by March 5, 2016 is on the blocked accounts in banks. A part of money was already returned by banks.

As a result of an incident none of clients of bank suffered. Now all divisions of Metallinvestbank operate normally.  The bank makes complete reorganization of an information security system that guarantees prevention of such incidents in the future, says credit institution.[2]

In March, 2016 the Group-IB company which is engaged in investigation of cybercrimes published the report from which it became known of plunder by hackers of nearly 2 billion rubles at the Russian banks.

The cybercriminal group under the name Buhtrap used the new virus sending false messages from names of the Central Bank or its representatives. With its help during the period from August, 2015 to February of the 2016th 13 cracking of banking systems, including Metallinvestbank and "Russian of international bank" were made.

2010: In TOP 100 of the largest Banks of Russia

Assets of Metallinvestbank for 1/1/2010 are 40,555 million rubles, the Capital – 4,623 million rubles, profit – 674 million rubles. According to the largest independent information and analytical agencies, by 2010 JSC JSB Metallinvestbank is included into TOP 100 of the largest Russian banks. The international rating agency "Moody's Investors Service" to Bank assigns score of B2/Not Prime and rating on a national scale of Vaa1. "The national rating agency" assigned to bank the individual score corresponding to group of reliability "And +" - high solvency, the first level.
