Work on the creation of a single center for the production of unmanned boats

At the end of September 2024, it became known about the creation in St. Petersburg of a production site for sea drones on the basis of the Kingisepp Machine-Building Plant (KMZ) military-industrial holding. The project is scheduled for 2025.

According to RBC, KMZ manager Mikhail Danilenko announced that he had reached an agreement with other developers of keyless boats in Russia on the concentration of their production in the KMZ areas. The creation of a single center for the production of unmanned boats corresponds to the general strategy for the development of unmanned technologies in Russia. Earlier, President Vladimir Putin announced plans to increase the production of drones of various types in 2024 by almost ten times compared to 2023, when the Armed Forces received about 140 thousand units.

According to the head, states by 2030, 48 special centers for serial production will be created in various regions of the country. drones The initiative to create a single center for the production of unmanned boats St. Petersburg in is part of this large-scale program.

In April 2024, KMZ faced difficulties in fulfilling a state contract for the supply of two fire boats for the Central Base of Measuring Equipment of the Ministry of Emergencies. Due to problems with the supply of components and the introduction of international sanctions, the contract was not fulfilled on time, which led to penalties.[1]

Production of the first Russian bearings for diesel engines and gas turbine units launched

The production of the first Russian bearings for diesel engines and gas turbine plants has been launched. The corresponding project was implemented by the military-industrial holding Kingisepp Machine-Building Plant (KMZ). His managing director of the holding, Mikhail Danilenko, spoke about this at the end of March 2024.

Previously, bimetallic bearings for high-power diesel engines and gas turbine plants were supplied by the Austrian company MIBA. It provided these products with almost all powerful diesel engines and gas turbine installations for the automotive industry and enterprises of the military-industrial complex. For example, in Rosatom, these bearings were used on automated diesel generators to provide the main reactor of the nuclear power plant.

The Austrians failed to spoil the mood of Russian industrialists and break technological chains. KMZ began production of bimetallic bearings of various configurations for the equipment we produce, as well as for third-party customers, - said Mikhail Danilenko in a conversation with RIA Novosti.

According to him, after the departure of MIBA from Russia, KMZ was able to organize a section for the manufacture of inserts, foundry and purchase an additional machine park in a short time. Danilenko stressed that KMZ, in addition to its own production of these products, has an important advantage - the presence of one of the largest test complexes for testing the results of work and working out the technology.
