2023: Tourist flow to Krasnaya Polyana grew by 15% over the year and reached 1.3 million people
In 2023, the Krasnaya Polyana resort was visited by 1.3 million people, which is 15% more than in 2022, when this figure was 1.17 million. Such an increase in tourist flow is associated with the active development of infrastructure and the introduction of new offers for recreation, the press service of the resort said in the winter of 2024. Most of the guests preferred a family vacation, with spouses and children, which emphasizes the relevance of Krasnaya Polyana as one of the leading tourist destinations in Russia.
According to the resort, in 2023 more than 850 thousand tourists chose accommodation in local hotels, which confirms the increased interest in this direction. The resort management notes that guests especially appreciate the variety of options for active and calm recreation. In winter, ski and snowboard trails are of the greatest interest, and in summer tourists prefer hiking on ecotropes, spa complexes and baths. Also, the directions of gastronomic tourism are actively developing, attracting more and more visitors, which makes Krasnaya Polyana not only a sports, but also a cultural center.
One of the key innovations of 2023 was the "Fill Your Summer" proposal, focused on the principles of sustainable development. This tourist product, recognized as the best ESG project in Russia, is designed taking into account the needs of tourists who prefer conscious travel and comfortable infrastructure. The proposal was a response to the changing preferences of the audience, which is now looking not only for active recreation, but also for ways to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Also in 2023, environmental certification of accommodation facilities continued at the resort. Hotels such as Rixos, Dolina 960 and Novotel Fit have been audited and received the international Green Key sign. This highlights the resort's high level of environmental responsibility. Moreover, Hotel Movenpik received the prestigious Green Globe eco-certificate, which confirms compliance with standards for sustainable development and environmental protection. In the future, the resort plans to certify all hotels by 2025.[1]

Largely thanks to Krukovsky, who came to the Krasnaya Polyana resort in 2015, the heyday of this place began. As the Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology of Russia Alexander Kozlov emphasizes, Andrei Krukovsky made a huge contribution to the development of tourism in Sochi, "making more for the tourism industry of the city than anyone else.
