2011
There are about 1,100 scientific and pedagogical employees in the state
Over the years of its existence, over 70 thousand people have been educated at the university, including more than 3 thousand foreign citizens.
In 2011, St. Petersburg State Technical University employs about 1,100 scientific and pedagogical employees, including 130 professors, 170 doctors of sciences, more than 700 candidates of sciences. The university employs 17 laureates of national and international prizes, among graduates and teachers who worked at the university - more than 30 academicians and corresponding members of the Russian Academy of Sciences. On the basis of the university, the Educational and Methodological Association for Education in Automation, Electronics, Microelectronics and Radio Engineering was created, which is one of the largest UMOs in Russia. The training of highly qualified personnel is carried out in graduate school in 49 scientific specialties and doctoral studies in 31 specialties.
The university has over 8,000 students.
St. Petersburg State Technical University cooperates with more than thirty universities in Europe, Asia and America; traditionally is the organizer of international scientific conferences; takes part in the work of international associations.
PTC Competence Center
On February 21, 2011, PTC, together with its platinum partner IRISOFT, opened the Competence Center at LETI St. Petersburg State Electrotechnical University. The purpose of the Competence Center is to prepare highly qualified specialists for the real sector of the economy who, immediately after training, will be able to start solving production problems.
In the created Competence Center, training courses are based on the solution for product development in the 3D environment - Creo Elements/Pro (formerly Pro'ENGINEER) from RTS. Students of engineering specialties will receive knowledge of modern technologies of computer-aided design, engineering calculations, design and technological preparation of production and support of the entire life cycle of products.
Within the framework of the PTC Competence Center in St. Petersburg State Technical University "LETI," students of four faculties will be trained: FKTI, FEA, FRT and FIBS. Among the scheduled courses are:
- "Automation of design, design of instruments and systems,"
- "End-to-end CAD design,"
- "Automated Systems in Engineering Design,"
- "Computer technologies in the field of electrical engineering, electromechanics and electrotechnologies,"
- "3D Design" and many others.
In addition, the PTC Competence Center will allow targeted commercial training of specialists from Russian enterprises, thereby becoming a center for advanced training and training of personnel in working with modern design technologies. Currently, work is underway to train personnel of such large Russian enterprises as Elektropribor, Sevmash, Radar MMC and others.
The opening of the PTC Competence Center provides 500 licenses that will be used in various departments, an unlimited number of student licenses for home use. As part of the project, PTC will provide university faculty and students with access to PTC's global knowledge base, including a large number of PTCU (PTC University) training materials specifically for universities, 3D model and drawing libraries, and more.
During the project, IRISOFT conducted initial software customization, training and certification of faculty - at the moment 6 representatives of the university have been trained. IRISOFT also provides the formation of target training groups from enterprises. In the future, it is planned to expand cooperation and expand the range of courses of the RTS Competence Center through products such as Windchill, Arbortext, Arbortext Isodraw and Mathcad.
1990s
In 1998, a branch of the university was opened in Yugorsk (western Siberia).
In 1992, the institute received university status. From the beginning of the 90s, the university began the development of economic and humanitarian areas: the creation of the International School of Management (1990), the organization of the Faculty of Humanities (1993) and the Faculty of Economics and Management (1999).
