Enteral nutrition is a method of artificial nutrition in which nutrients are delivered directly to the patient's gastrointestinal tract. The main goal of such nutrition is to support the body and provide it with all the necessary substances, including proteins, fats, carbohydrates, vitamins and trace elements.
This method of nutrition is used in cases where the patient cannot independently consume food in sufficient quantities due to diseases, injuries or after surgical interventions. Specialized nutrition is critical for patient recovery in healthcare settings.[1]
