2020: Oncologists of the Center "Medical City" cured a patient with the fourth stage of cancer

On October 14, 2020, the Department of Health of the Tyumen Region announced the cure of a patient who was diagnosed with stage four cervical cancer. Oncologists of the regional multidisciplinary center "Medical City" performed a patient with intra-arterial chemotherapy.

The woman was diagnosed at the first stage during pregnancy, she decided to keep the baby and began treatment only after giving birth. The disease did not recede in five years, the tumor went beyond the cervix.

The specialists of the center decided to apply the method of X-ray endovascular surgery and gave the patient five courses of super selective intra-arterial regional chemotherapy. In this case, the chemopreparation is introduced directly into the tumor tissue through ultra-thin catheters.

We performed intra-arterial chemotherapy through the vessels that supply the uterus, tumor, cervix, ovarian artery... Thanks to this effect, the tumor began to decrease, - said Lavrenty Dyakov, head of the department of X-ray surgical methods for diagnosis and treatment.

He called the method of X-ray endovascular surgery one of the most modern, innovative and low-traumatic in the field of X-ray surgery.

Antitumor treatment made it possible to carry out further remote and intracavitary radiation therapy, due to which the tumor completely regressed. The control study and MRI showed a complete absence of pathology, stressed in the Department of Health.
